At the Department of Gerontological Home Care and Long-term Care Nursing / Palliative Care Nursing, we are engaged in a wide range of research to improve long-term care for older adults and their families.
In Japan, where society is aging rapidly and the population is declining, it is essential to ensure the quality of care provided in long-term care facilities and home-based settings. To achieve this, we also have to focus on the well-being of care clients, providers, family members, and the community.
Guided by this perspective, our current research efforts include:
① Developing programs that enhance care quality while also being enjoyable and sustainable for care providers, ② Establishing evaluation methods that minimize the burden of data input for quality indicators, ③ Constructing new knowledge through case studies of care practices, and ④ Creating caring communities that embrace the idea that everyone, at some point in life, both gives and receives care—and that this mutual experience can be enriching.
We aim to contribute to society through nursing research without being constrained by traditional academic frameworks. We are pleased to share our activities and ideas with you on this website, and we hope you explore our work.
